Possible Cruelty Free Brands

Hi!

So this is basically a list of brands that I can't find on websites like Peta, but provide information or state that they do not test on animals. I've done my best to research into these brands; for now these are the brands that I am trusting but if anything changes that shows a brand has lied or does test on animals, I will make sure to alter this post so it stays correct.

On top of that if anyone reads this post and sees a brand here that they know for sure does test on animals please feel free to comment to let me know.

Here is my list:
~ Rimmel London (update, Jan 2015: I discovered not long after uploading this post that Rimmel do test on animals except on their products in the UK, I now will no longer be buying their products due to them not being a 100% cruelty free makeup brand)
~ Kiko cosmetics
~ Sleek Makeup
~ Nars
~ Collection cosmetics
~ MeMeMe cosmetics
~ Inglot cosmetics
~ Illamasqua
~ Witch Skincare
~ Batiste Hair
~ Simple Skincare
~ MUA (This is on the fence for me at the moment, as they might be selling in China which either means they do test or that the final product is tested in China. So for now I will not be purchasing from MUA, but I've mentioned it for you guys to think about it and look into it for yourselves)

This is all I have so far, I will be coming back to this post to add/remove brands where needed.

I hope this is helpful for you guys, I have some more posts coming up, a few are tutorials which I've not really done before so thats exciting! Keep an eye out!

Peace out!

Brands that DON'T Test on Animals

Hi all! :)

To start off my return to blogging only with cruelty-free cosmetics/skin care. I thought I would share some of my favourite brands (makeup, skin, hair care, etc.)  and of course other well known brands that do not test on animals. Some you may already know, some may you be happy to discover they don't test! Here we go:

~ Amika
~ Aveda
~ Burt's Bees
~ Dermalogica
~ E.L.F. Cosmetics
~ Egyptian Magic Skin Cream
~ GOSH Cosmetics
~ Lime Crime Cosmetics
~ LUSH cosmetics
~ Manic Panic
~ NYX cosmetics
~ OCC, Inc.  (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics)
~ Smashbox Cosmetics
~ Sugarpill Cosmetics
~ Tarte Cosmetics
~ The Body Shop
~ Too Faced Cosmetics
~ Urban Decay
~ Victoria Secret [Limited brands]
~ Wet n Wild

Now these are just some brands that I know and/or use myself that I know for a fact don't test on animals. I checked on the peta website to confirm these brands, I'm sure I've missed plenty of brands that you all may know or heard of; so go ahead and check out the peta website and check for yourself.

If you're a newbie in cruelty-free products like me, make sure to do your research. There are brands that clearly do test on animals but on their website they state they don't, make sure you check on websites like Peta or Go Cruelty Free.

Research is key, especially if you're going to be strict with the brands you use. It's best to be safe at first and use the brands that you are pretty much 100% sure, even if it's on a cruelty-free website, there is a chance of the brand testing on animals. I remember reading an article of a brand (can't remember which one it was) who stated they were cruelty free and then discovered they were lying and I personally found it very disappointing that people would lie just to gain customers.

Anyway, to sum up, these are the products you can trust more than others as they are on the Peta website and do your research. Also if you are still stuck while research, gather all the information you've found about the company you're researching on and send it to Peta or Go Cruelty Free, or any website that can help you confirm. There are some brands that are not on these websites but are cruelty free.

Here's a picture of my cutie of a dog, Mylo, when he was a pup! To help encourage you to go cruelty-free!
Good Luck!

I will either be adding more to this list or make a new blog post about brands that are not found on peta or other websites but that through my research I believe that they don't test on animals. Also I will post a list of brands that do test on animals so you can all widen your knowledge! :)

Peace out Beauties!

Turning a New Leaf

Hello there!

So I haven't uploaded a blog post in a very long time, since November 2013 I believe? And even before then I wasn't really uploading how a true blogger would upload. I can go on and on with excuses on why I hadn't been posting, but we'd be here all week! Basically I'm free from my studies and ready to get sharing!

Now, to the whole 'New Leaf' title I've given this post. So around the start of this year my sister and I were discussing on how we do not appreciate makeup and skincare brands that test on animals. We feel like we should not be using brands that torture, harm or do worse(!) to poor innocent animals, who don't even get a choice in the matter, just for our beauty-gain.

I don't want to make this a super serious post, but long-story-short, I've decided to go cruelty-free on all beauty products I use, thus the redesigning on my blog to celebrate. My plan is to finish using all the products I already own who may have always, or recently started testing on animals, due to the fact I cannot go back on what I have purchased.

I do find that this will be a challenge in the sense that I am 18 years old, who currently does not have a job, so finding good products that work for me and are affordable are a must. Growing up I've been so used to popping to the drugstore and purchasing whatever I find looks 'pretty'. In another way I find this is not challenging at all, because there a so many brands that I haven't even heard of who don't test on animals, and most of these brands are vegan too! I just find it so fascinating.

I have already been using cruelty-free brands without even knowing it too! So that's like a plus for me! I am so excited to try out new things and review them for you all; I am currently testing out some new products that I know I'll love for a long time.

Will be posting soon!

Peace & Love
